Almost all cell phones nowadays, and even in earlier days, have covers for them. These covers are usually called cell phone faceplates, snap on protectors, or just plain protectors. These components for protection and style come in a many forms: colors, styles, textures, and designs. Mobile phone faceplates are also available with different logos of: sports teams, people, television shows, bands, or anything else you can think of. Most shops that sell faceplates have a vast assortment full of protectors for each and every type of person.

Most of the top brands like Motorola, iphone, Blackberry, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony Ericsson, Kyocera, and Sanyo have some sort of faceplate made for them and if any other models, or new brand of cell phones are introduced to the market place, manufacturers will be on top of designing a series of cell phone faceplates for those specific models that are most popular, and selling fast.

Mobile phone faceplates are readily available online, and off. Not only are there an almost infinite amount of cell phone faceplate designs online, you can also visit your local cell phone accessory store, or mall where many retailers are set up offering a wide selection of protectors. Although availability is wide, not all cell phone faceplates are the same. Make sure that it is tough enough to last, and help protect your phone from damage when dropped or bumped against hard, or sharp surfaces.

If you buy one for $2, chances are it will fall apart in no time. It is important that you remember that you get what you pay for and cell phone faceplates are no exception. In addition to the strength and durability, you want to make sure the cell phone faceplates you are looking at are compatible with your phone. If you have a larger phone with many functions (i.e. Blackberry), you want to make sure the cell phone protector matches the face of your phone and the buttons and/or screen are not covered so you cannot access them.

Depending on the brand, cell phone faceplates can cost anywhere from $5-$40. Cell phones like the Blackberry, myTouch, and iTouch might run a little bit more. But, for the most part cell phone faceplates are very reasonable in price. In addition to the model and brand, materials also play a part in how much you will pay for the protector. Leather protectors are always more and some manufacturers have made exclusive gem-studded cell phone faceplates for wealthy individuals to enjoy.
