You can expect more than a Slider mobile phone with 8MP camera, excellent sound quality and A-GPS with Google Maps and touchscreen control for your media functions with Sony Ericsson Aino.
The Sony Ericsson Aino is a slider phone that had an entire room excited when at release, it claimed to have the ability to playback content directly from your PS3. But alas, it's not the PSP phone; instead you get a very solid and heavily featured phone with the ability to access media anywhere.
While it's never going to win the plaudits of the Sony Ericsson Satio, the Aino (pronounced I-no) is a very nice phone in its own right, and manages to edge above being simply solid into 'impressive' territory.
The first thing you notice is the weighty feel of the handset (as well as the startlingly dark hue the Obsidian Black is sporting, with your eyes feeling like they've been sucked into a vortex of mobile phone gravity). It's a reassuring weight, with a button layout that will be familiar to a number of the Sony Ericsson fraternity.
When I first saw that the Aino could sync with the PS3, I immediately had visions of surfing through the main menu of the PS3 on my mobile and playing games, sans joystick. Not in this version of the Aino, but I am hoping that I'm giving Sony Ericsson a few ideas. Not that they aren't already thinking what I'm thinking, I'm sure. Sony Ericsson's Aino should be available in the fall, but so far, there is no word on a price. Rumor has it that the Aino is slated for a European-only release.

The Sony Ericsson Aino's touch-screen interface is limited to the media browser, it has no 3.5mm headset jack, and the navigation keys are a little small. Some may find the price tag a little steep.
