Advantage Of Cable TV And Satellite TV

By Aretha Holly

Cable TV came out as a modified model from the oldest type of TV which uses the antenna. Next is Satellite TV which is the upgraded and efficient one. However, Cable TV still continuously being used by people user to many factors. Let us see and determine the advantage of cable TV from Satellite TV.

Both can be good and beneficial but these two types are worth comparing. Each of this may be the right pick for your home, to know the comparison; the comparison can be determined to many factors such as:

Price: This is the first priority of the people when looking forward on what to choose among these two. Satellite TV is cheaper than the Cable TV. This is because the maintenance of the cables used for cable TV is really high, not to mention of replacing the old cables made of fiber optic cables.

Cable TV as a late version than the satellite TV offers no better deals than satellite TV like HDR or high definition receiver. It would need additional cable to enhance the view on TV. With satellite TV, since it is the latest version of network it is ready to install and already is HDR. No need for an additional charge if you want an HDR; unlike the cable TV.

Channel: Both of types of network for TV offers nice channels however, since satellite is the newest technology and has more upgrades, it will give the user more channels than the cable TV. Satellite TV also offers international channels unlike the Cable TV.

Equipment: When it comes to equipments and other structures used, cable TV requires more cables and other counterparts in order to get good signal. With satellite TV, once it is installed in a good area in some parts of your property, it will readily give good signal to bring good beam for your TV in order to view your favorite show or movie on TV. Additionally, Satellite TV gives high definition receiver.

Transmission: Transmission with satellite TV is more stable than the cable TV. Average percentage of down time per year is only 1%. Cable TV has the average of 3. 5% down time each year. Satellite can only be down when there are storms, bad weather and if the clouds block the satellite signal.

There is an advantage of cable too, the maintenance and repair may be expensive but there are best deals that go with the package and satellite TV does not have. Like, phone and modem for call and internet access. This can be helpful to your monthly expenses than paying for each and separate installation at home.

Some people would still use cable TV because it is their existing network using at home. It would be much expensive to transfer from one network to another, which is the advantage of cable TV over satellite TV.
